OPEN SPACE EVENT

We will dedicate the first morning of the congress to an Open Space event.

Open Space Technology is a way of organizing the work and the learning processes of a large group of people who are at the same place at the same time and who share either common interests or a common area of work.

This process will give you the opportunity to:

  • Network while working together on self chosen topics
  • Deepen or raise issues you always wanted to share with colleagues
  • Discover common interests that you share with your Congress fellows
  • Establish a knowledge and / or interest-sharing platform
  • Explore new topics in our intercultural field
  • Achieve immediate results in each breakout group

The whole group will start together on Thursday morning just after breakfast. Breakout groups will be defined--each participant will choose to join a group or to establish one. As a participant you are asked only to be present and to bring your "burning issues". The facilitator team will explain details as the event proceeds.

Does it work?
Yes, absolutely!
Your facilitator team regularly facilitates similar group processes. Colleagues from around the world work every day applying Open Space Technology to large groups.

How does it work?
Open Space Technology provides responsible and motivated participants with:

  • The framework to achieve their group's agreed objectives
  • The rules that allow this process to happen.
  • The technical support needed to work together effectively.
  • The facilitation and optimum timing for a successful whole group meeting.

The Open Space event will energize us all by by creating a communication platform that will help us to share the cutting edge work that we are doing.

The Budapest Congress results will be part of the whole process - in as much as the stakeholders from that Congress are involved as participants and will build upon their experience of the 2003 Congress.
